Our collection of reverse printed, frame-less, free floating, tempered glass?was inspired by the French technique of Verre Eglomise in which artist's literally painted the back of clear glass so that when viewed from the front the painting is brought to life under the depth of the glass. Five nodding pincushion plants are shown here in a strange gathering, which in nature would be quite normal, but rendered as they are as x-ray images it takes on the feeling of an alien assembly. These pincushions have been recreated in transparent 3D and the heads of the flowers have a stunning, interlocked level of detail, reminding us of the complexity required for life.
