The tight focus on this propeller and engine reveals very little of the rest of the plane, to the point that the observer is not even sure that this is a plane at all; it could be any bizarre machine. This re-framing of the object is key in artwork and fits well with the use of iron sculpture, which itself twists materials into new shapes. The grey sheen of this grand machine suggests faded glories, yet the image also conveys the mighty scale of the craft.
