The discs of this Arte de Metallo sculpture are allowed to float free of any canvas or border, the illusion perfected by hiding the structure underneath. The slits cut into each disc are reminiscent of sea life, an impression supported by the pearlescent browns and greys used in the piece. These could well be ancient shells or fossilized creatures, rare beauties from the depths.
